Experience the epicurean side of Madrid by tasting traditional and avant´garde tapas, cooking with a professional Spanish chef. Next take two day trips: one to classic Aranjuez, home to the 17th century Royal Palace of Aranjuez and the magnificent classical gardens and known for its spring harvests of starwberries and asparagus; the second trip is to Toledo, the medieval seat of the Jewish, Muslim and Christian Spain, and today a museum of a city. Fine Spanish eating and wine pairing will close your days in each city.

Day 1
Madrid
Arrive Madrid. Check in at your boutique hotel in the heart of old Madrid.
Private historic Madrid walking tour through the classic Spanish capital.
In your free time visit Madrid’s fine art museums including the Prado, one of Europe’s best museums housing an astounding collection of Spanish and European art, the Reina Sofia Museum, and the Thyssen Museum.
Dinner at a venerable Madrid institution near the Plaza Mayor.
Day 2
Madrid
Private cooking class in the chef’s studio near Madrid’s Royal Palace. The chef is a member of Spain’s Academy of Gastronomy and a knowledgeable and delightful companion. Meet the chef in the morning for a visit to one of Madrid’s markets. Then cook your meal and enjoy the food and the paired wines in the company of your chef.
Evening tapas tour with your delightful Spanish food and wine specialist through Madrid’s historic Hapsburg and Latina districts. You will stop at different tapas bars, each specializing in one type of tapa ranging from traditional patatas bravas, jamón ibérico or pescadito frito to cutting-edge minimalist tapas in sleek design bars with fashionable clients.
Day 3
Aranjuez
Visit the home of one of the Spanish crown’s summer residences with its classical gardens.
Lunch in an on the radar restaurant frequented by Madrid chefs. Tasting menu and wine pairing.
Day 4
Toledo
Board the AVE high-speed train to Toledo. In 30 short minutes you are in the beautiful medieval town, the former center of the three cultures: Christian, Jewish and Moslem.
Private tour of Toledo, including medieval Jewish synagogues and El Greco paintings, and tastings of traditional marzipan still made in convents.
The highlight of your trip lies ahead. Visit a private winery and wine cellar housed in a medieval Jewish merchant’s home in the city of Toledo. After a private wine tasting with the owners, sit down for a special tasting menu prepared for you in one of Spain’s best restaurants.

Departure
Depart for home.

Forms
The Terms and Conditions Agreement and Waiver and Release of Liability Form must be signed and returned via email, fax or mail to Epicurean Ways with your trip reservation. See the Agreement here.
Deposit
A deposit of $750 per person is required in order to reserve a trip. After we receive your reservation form we will send you an invoice via email for the deposit. You may pay securely through PayPal via credit card, by bank transfer, or by check. We will confirm your reservation upon receipt of the deposit.
Full payment for the trip is due 60 days before the program begin date. For reservations made less than 60 days before the program begin date, full payment is due at the time of booking.
Travel Insurance
You must indicate on this form whether you accept or decline travel insurance. We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance because of the protection it offers you in the case of travel emergency or need to change your travel plans.
