New Michelin Stars in Spain

November 29, 2009

The Michelin star awards were announced this week, giving Spain one more three-star restaurant for a total of seven, adding four two-star restaurants and sixteen one-star restaurants. The long-deserved third star went to El Celler de Can Roca in Girona run by the three Roca brothers.

The restaurants now having two stars are Casa Marcial de Arriondas (Asturias), Lasarte (Barcelona), La terraza del Casino (Madrid) and Les Cols (Olot).

The new one-star restaurants are El Etxebarri Axpe (Vizcaya), la Enoteca del Hotel Arts (Barcelona), A Estación de Cambre (A Coruña), M.B. de Guía de Isora (Tenerife), BoTic, in Corça (Gerona), Julio Fontanar dels Alforíns (Valencia), La Fonda Xesc Gombrèn (Gerona), Cocinandos de León, La Broche, (Madrid), Diverxo (Madrid), Kabuki Wellington (Madrid), Ramón Freixa (Madrid), As Garzas, in Malpica (A Coruña), La Cabaña de la Finca Buenavista (Murcia), Alejandro de Roquetas del Mar (Almería), and Torreó de L’India de Xerta (Tarragona).

We love the second star for Les Cols, in Olot (Girona) and the first star for BoTic in Corçà (Girona).
